Ark Backing Up Dinos Saved to an Obelisk
They disappear but saved into the obelisk. You can take them out of the obelisk while still in your world if you wish.

So instead of making a dino barn, I could of just been uploading my dino's before I go to bed?
They stored in the player or island data file? Would be nice if they were in the player file so you could upload them, refresh your world and then redownload them into the new world when you were ready for them.

Well, you have to bring them to the obelisk, and they don't keep what is in their inventory, but yes, you could do that.
How does it treat "tribe" dinos?

you can't exactly do that, the server you have has to have dinosaur downloads on, or they are stuck in there forever, be careful with it.
where is the obelisk data stored? is it in theisland.ark or somewhere separate?
