A Judge Rules Trump May Have Incited Violence â€⦠and Trump Again Has His Own Mouth to Blame
Donald Trump has displayed a troubling design of attacking judges and the courts for rulings he disagrees with — a pattern that began during his presidential campaign (and fifty-fifty before), and has continued into his presidency.
This threatens our entire system of government. The courts are bulwarks of our Constitution and laws, and they depend on the public to respect their judgments and on officials to obey and enforce their decisions. Fear of personal attacks, public backlash, or enforcement failures should not color judicial decision-making, and public officials take a responsibility to respect courts and judicial decisions. Separation of powers is not a threat to democracy; information technology is the essence of democracy.
Collected below are examples of Trump's public statements attacking individual judges and questioning the constitutional authority of the judiciary, including his countryments on Twitter. It will be updated with new statements.
Attack on Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg
On February 24, Trump targeted U.S. Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, demanding that the two justices should recuse themselves from whatever cases that he is involved in.
The attacks came after Justice Sotomayor authored a dissent criticizing the Supreme Courtroom's decision to temporarily block a lower court ruling preventing the Trump Administration from denying dark-green cards to immigrants based on their use of public benefits similar Medicaid, SNAP, and housing aidance. In herdissent inWolf v. Melt County, Justice Sotomayor wrote that putting a lower courtroom'south decision on concord while the government appeals that determination is an "extraordinary" act, appropriate only when the government can show urgent and irreparable harm if their request is not granted. Sotomayor said that, "Meritsing one emergency later another, the government has recently sought stays in an unprecedented number of casesouth…And with each successive application…its cries of urgency ring increasingly hollow." "It is difficult to say what is more troubling: that the Government seek this extraordinary relief seemingly as a affair of course, or that the Courtroom would grant it," Sotomayor wrote.
Trump alsotargeted Justice Ginsburg in this attack over comments she fabricated during his 2016 campaign, in which shesaid, " I can't imagine what this place would be — I can't imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump equally our president."
…on all Trump, or Trump related, matters! While "elections accept consequences", I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!

Approximate Jackson Berman is scheduled to make a last ruling in Stone'south case on February 20.

There has rarely been a juror and so tainted as the forewoman in the Roger Stone case. Look at her background. She never revealed her hatred of "Trump" and Rock. She was totally biased, as is the judge. Roger wasn't fifty-fifty working on my entrada. Miscarriage of justice. Sad to watch!

Every example that gets filed in the Ninth Circuit we get beaten."
In a rare response, Primary Justice John Roberts told the AP that the U.S. doesn't have "Obama judges or Trump judges, Bush judges or Clinton judges. What we have is an extraordinary group of dedicated judges doing their level all-time to exercise equal right to those appearing earlier them." Roberts added that "The independent judiciary is something we should all be give thanksful for."
Trump responded on Twitter, defending his merits and over again questioning the impartiality of the Ninth Circuit:
Sorry Chief Justice John Roberts, but you do indeed have "Obama judges," and they accept a much different point of view than the people who are charged with the safety of our country. It would exist great if the 9th Circuit was indeed an "independent judiciary," simply if it is why…

Carter Page FISA Application
On July 22, 2018, the Trump Administration released a previously classified Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant application regarding Trump's erstwhile foreign policy campaign adviser, Carter Page. Organizations similar Judicial Sentry had sued for its disclosure. Trump took the release every bit an opportunity to falsely merits the Page surveillance precipinformation technologyated special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, to argue that the wiretap application relied too heavily on the unverified Steele dossier, and to debate that Mueller'southward investigation must cease. Someone said the other day, well, he has some psychological problems – well, y'all know, in the onetime days, bing, bell—when we were strong, when we were potent. So nosotros get Bergdahl, a traitor, and they get 5 of the people that they most wanted anywhere in the globe, five killers that are right now back on the battlefield, doing a job. That'southward the kind of deals we make."
Following these comments, Bergdahl's lawyers filed a motility in 2016 to dismiss the charges awaiting confronting him, arguing that Trump'southward comments precluded Bergdahl from receiving a fair trial.
